  • To Do(s)

My buddy wrote on her blog ‘My Life To Do List’. She did has a long list of to-dos, like stay in Japan, stay in India, write a song, etc. Damn, so many not-easy stuffs 🙂

I did list down my to-do in a website called 43things.com, back in 2007. It will send a reminder for each to-do. Haha, i havent completed any. It’s not that easy. One of my favorite to do is watch Roma vs Lazio Live 😀 damn, am not any closer.

The easy one, (and the 43things.com keep reminding me) is fly with business class. I will try that this year.

  • Food in Makassar

My tongue is something unique. Hard to explain, but yet most of the times easy to satisfy. I like most indonesian food. Yeah, most. i love local dish from my hometown Pekanbaru (yeah, nothing actually “original”, most food in Pekanbaru were not originated in Pekanbaru).

Name them: lontong sayur (love it!), mie pangsit (love it!), soto (like it!), soto padang (love it!), nasi padang (love it!), pempek (like it!), pisang goreng (love it!), bakwan (love it!). A long list.

Javanese? yeam, love rawon, ketoprak, gado-gado, etc. But, i just can not stand Makassar’s food. Haha. Don’t exactly know why.

2 years ago, i tried their nasi goreng (hate it!), pisang ijo (dont like it!).

This trip, i tried a food stall across the hotel, i asked for their specialty: a “Mi Goreng A’la Pxxxxx”. Pxxxx is the name of the food place.

The noodle is kinda funny, the chicken is not good, the mushroom is not tasty, the shrimp is okay, but there are lots of other body-parts I detest. Score: 2/10. Yeaks!

Enough of experiment! Tired of food testing. The second night, I decided to eat something internationally tested.

    Big Mac 😀

Haha. Yeah, Bic Mac, and Bread Talk’s Fire Floss.

  • Toraja Coffee

On my previous trip to Makasar, my friend took me to a coffee stall called “Warung Kopi Phoenam”, he said ‘this is the best coffee in town!’. We drank the coffee around 10pm that night.

And, on this trip, i found that Phoenam also opened a coffee shop in a mall side-by-side to the hotel where I stay for 2 nights. So, altho i had some kind of cold/fever yesterday, I pushed myself to try (again) their special Kopi Susu and Roti Goreng Telur Kaya. Slurp. The coffee is good!

    Toraja Coffee.

Back in my room again. The flights were both okay, no significant delay. I ordered again a cup of toraja coffee in the waiting room of Hasanuddin Airport. Yeaks, tasted like Nescafe (the waiters convinced me that it is not Nescafe, i insisted to see the packaging 😀 they said ‘beneran koq, itu kopi bubuk toraja, tadi baru diisi, dia udah digiling halus, makanya seperti kopi instan’…).

    Doh!

  • Satoo and Coto

Had a lunch in Satoo – Shangri La Hotel this afternoon. This restaurant is one of my very favorites! Love the menu, love lamb-char-siew, love peking-duck, sushi, sashimi, everything. Feels like to enjoy another meal there!

Read the review here and the official detail here.

    Trust me, you should try!

Hmmm, am leaving for Makasar tomorrow afternoon, have to replace my colleague for a training in Makasar. This probably my third trip to Makasar.

The first one, back in July 2005. Read the post from Makasar here. I tried nasi goreng merah (yeaksss.), and pisang epe (another yeaksss.). Also tried Coto Makasar. This one is okay lah.

The second trip, around November 2007. A friend (…my client) took me for a city tour. He drove me to the seaside, the city, and around and around, and finally taste the original Kopi Toraja, which is slurrrrrppp. Had the coffee at 10pm!

So, this is the third trip. Not much i expect, as probably i will mostly spend my days alone. Be back on Monday evening.

  • Updates

One full month since my last post 😀 really busy with works. I worked on a seminar, few presentations, few trainings, and fee headaches. Crazy but fun.

I’ve been thinking of “remap” and “repackage” suwanditalks.com. In the near future! I am adding my professional side on this website, and this blog will become an integral/complementary part of this website. Just wait for the update! 🙂

Also thinking about migrating from blogger to wordpress. Dunno why, but it seems slower when i blog with blogger. Slower than wordpress. I know my pal has asked me to consider Vox, but hmmm… still dont have a sort of chemistry with vox, (altho i do read yours, regularly) haha.

Late already. Chat with Ike minutes ago, she’s crazily into onemanga.com, so probably she’s reading one right now, or watching some Koreans.

    Nighthy night, everyone!

Sssssshhh, week #20 of 2008 already!!
