  • Love – Power – Justice

    “What is needed is a realization
       that power without love is reckless and abusive,
       and love without power is sentimental and anemic.

    Power at its best is
       love implementing the demands of justice,

    and justice at its best is
       power correcting everything that stands against love…

    I know that love is ultimately the only answer to mankind’s problems.
    And I’m going to talk about it everywhere I go.”

    Martin Luther King, Jr

  • Great Idea for Car

    Wow… I can’t believe they put this machine on their car! Great idea! Espresso machine in a car, well well well…

    As the young male actor – almost as highly polished as the car itself – gives his introduction to Audi’s latest product of the future, he is interrupted by his co-presenting colleague, an attractive young blonde woman behind the steering wheel.
    “Wait, we haven’t finished yet. The Audi Roadjet concept carries an onboard espresso machine! Freshly brewed coffee can be enjoyed whether stuck in a jam or at a park.”

  • Life on 20000 Feet

    I was on my way back to Jakarta, from Belitung Island. I’ve just conducted gap analysis in a mining industry. It was Batavia Air (Again! The same flight that I had problem with). In the middle of the flight, around 15 minutes after take-off, there was a quite terrible thing happened. I don’t know why and they never explain.

    The plane began to shook very hard.
    Some people began to scream ‘ahhhh…’.
    I try to stay calm.
    I tightened my seat belt.
    And then, there’s a sound of something fell off.
    “Please! Don’t tell me it’s the wing, or the jet-engine!”
    My God! ‘Is the plane owright??’

    By that second, my mind just go blank. I’m not thinking about the plane, but about me;
    How in 25 of my age, I have never accomplished anything great;
    How I never go to Venezia, although I’ve promised someone about this;
    How I never have a long vacation;…. Argh… what have I done in this 25 years? Do I really do nothing? Damn it! A quarter of century!

    Perhaps, I will do great things when this flight is over! Urgh,…. I hate flying! Now I can understand why my cousin always refuses to take a flight, although his parent’s going to US.

    And few minutes later, (one or two minutes, I mean), the plane began to stable. The lady sitting the same row with me still hold her husband tightly. It was all quite, then.

    Fiuh… Thanks, God! At least, I have another breath to take, another dream to realize, another day with my family and girl,..
    and another cup of coffee.

    (Better and should stop typing, and start thinking about the dreams!!)

    Now?

  • Ugly – Beautiful

    Know that however ugly the parts appear
    the whole remains beautiful…
    the wholeness of life and things,
    the divine beauty of the universe.

    Love that, not man apart from that,
    or else you will share man’s pitiful confusions,
    or drown in despair when his days darken.

  • Lunch Under The Sea Level

    Today, I’m visiting another barge, this time, it’s called Crane Barge Indo Prestasi I. Sounds like a very good vessel, and yes, it is huuuge, it is robust, and it is pretty. (you know.., people mostly refer a boat/ship/vessel to a girl, a feminine object). Sounds true, imagining Indo Prestasi as a sexy but big vessel.

    I briefed the personnel on-board concerning the quality management system, and later had lunch in the vessel. They got a good cook, Sukardi, who was famous with his sambal, and it does taste good! They served fish, egg, vegetable, fruits. But, I didn’t really care about what I ate! What keep buzzing in my head is, I had lunch UNDER the sea level! I had lunch in the ‘basement’ dining room, which was one of lowest part of the barge, we had to go downstairs for the lunch, and it was under the sea level. So good!

    When we went to the barge, we had to take a small boat, called Straits Lhok Tuan, which was operated only by a guy, manually, without engine. But it was only about 10  meters before reaching the barge. They were doing some piling job, and extremely busy with their activity. Luckily, got time to brief about tomorrow audit.

    Having such a good time on board.. the travel from Bontang to the port took 2 hours, but it was certainly worth it.
