  • A Tribute To Hendy Sun

I was doing my stuff when my friend in Accenture, Anthony’s instant-messaging me and ask about something I’ve once discussed with long time ago. Until one point, he told me “planning is still the planning”. And I nod, yes, and “someday is not even a day in calendar” 🙂

Everyone is planning everything, and somebody maybe have plans for their whole life.

But, one single moment can change everything. I was so sad when I read about of my friend from Pekanbaru, that currently stays in Jogjakarta. He got an accident that changed his whole life. Dramatically. Pray for him, that he’ll stays strong as he is now.

Everything is worth planning. But, in many cases, another quick-plan shall be made available. Adjustment, no matter small or big, shall be accepted. I have many plans this year. Some of them have been revised or even deleted. Remembering every deleted-or-revised-plans is degrading our quality of life, increasing our stress level. For now, the even-better plan is to plan to accept that your plan is not always work.

My friend in Jogjakarta has showed us, that accepting another plan, is the way to adapt with a new life. Life is not about completing your plan, it is more about enjoying the beat of the journey. And make the very best out of it. For you, your family, your love one, or your friends.

    He is a hero..

  • Gravity

Recently, my friend mailed me about Shawn Mcdonald, he predicted that i will like the song. Later on, today, i checked the website about Mr Shawn, 🙂 I download some of the tracks, to be mentioned : All I Need, Beautiful, Gravity, Take My Hand. Ya ya, illegally.

I love the musics. I love his vocal. Excellente for me. Like Jack Johnson, focused in his guitar. Accoustic! Yes, thats the keyword.
If you learned about the lyrics, you can see that, most of his musics talked about his belief, his relilgion, his God. Just like this one:

Gravity is pulling me to the ground
This world keeps making me cry
But I’m going to try, going to try to fly, going to fly high
Don’t want to give into the sin, want to stay in You ‘til the end

Good artist! And for sure, I will listen to him frequently. Gonna put them in my nano. 🙂

  • Execution-able?

There’s a ‘funny’ thing during one of my office hours. I have been doing some stuff for one of my company’s initiatives. Researching the web A to Z, mailing some guys, et ce tera, et ce tera. And to one point, my good friend Dennis was doing his stuff next to my desk. Confusing and frustrating, I commented “apparently, concepting is much much easier than executing!”.

I was hoping for no respond. You know, its kind of ‘self-asking’ that require no reply. But, later he laughed, and said ‘you know, there’s a story I once read’. I said ‘what is that?’. And he started telling me the story (later I knew that he quoted the story from “Aesop and The CEO”).

A large group of mice lived in a barn for many years. Llife was wonderful, except for the sneaky cat that prowled around. Hardly a day went without a poor mouse being chased or even eaten by the cat. Finally, the head mouse called a meeting.

“Ladies and gentlemen, youngster, and baby mice,” he stated. “The time is now to resolve our problem with the cat. Does anyone have any solution?”

The mice were abuzz with ideas and suggetion, but none seemed to solve the problem.
Then, a young mouse got up, took the floor, and said boldly, “let’s hang a bell around the cat’s necl. That way, whenever the cat is near, we’ll hear the ringing and safely hide.” The crowd applauded loudly as the mouse took his seat.

Once the applause died down, an elderly mouse rose to his feet and said, “Our young friend’s plan is simple yet ingenious. Once the bell is on the cat, we’ll all live safely. But, I have one brief question to put to you all: Which one of you will volunteer to bell the cat?”

Hahahaha… I will remember that story forever. And I learned something, that if you are proposing something, keep in mind that we have to make it executeable. By the way, I’ve check the dictionary, ‘executeable’ is not even a word. Wakakka..

What a true thing about this one:

“Man is always something more than what he knows of himself.
He is not what he is simply once and for all, but is a process…” – Karl Jaspers

  • Another Belitung Story

Been very tired yesterday. Slept at 1 and woke up at 4.30… urgh… only 3.5 hours! That’s pretty much the total time I spent in car everyday. I have to go to Belitung this morning. Arrived at Belitung airport around 8.30. There’s quite some work to do in factory of my client. Ya ya.. several ISO stuffs.

The company is a China foreign investment. Many Chinese there. I have to talk in mandarin or hokkian to them, which I’ve never done it before. Talks in English already troublesome to me, and now it’s mandarin… can you imagine…? And sometimes I have to mention technical words like ‘defect’, ‘quality’, ‘rework’, and I cant even find the suitable words! Wakaka… so I just ‘err.. urrr… bleee…’. And they look at me, and also ‘err… urrr… bleee…’ also…

The thing is, those Chinese can not understand English, for God’s sake they don’t even understand the word ‘target’… and by that time, I realised how the first person to acclaim we need international language was a brilliant person. 🙂  Hehe..

The funny story about this town called Tanjung Pandan is the entire town only got ONE traffic light! One! Yes, single one! 🙂
Others ONE thing is, there’s only one gas-station, one police station, one big company (PT Timah), one radio station, one newspaper. (at least that’s what I’ve seen).

And, the major unfortunate of the town, they have many NO, like there’s no star-hotel, no mall or shopping center, no taxi, and even no BCA!! Wakakaka… poor Belitung (the Chinese read it as Phe-Lee-Tong).
