    After writing my memory of Cornel, i remember one old post (A Note for My Self – Death and Life):

  • Remembering A Friend

    “Hi, Bro Suwandi, my health condition is not so good, required blood transfusion several time.”

    That is one the latest messages exchanges I had with Cornel. It was just 6 weeks ago, when I thought of him (out of the blue), and texted him. He then sent regards to wife and son. And, quietly we both just hope for the best.

    Yesterday, he passed.

    Once, he was a football buddy. He taught me how to play properly 20 years ago. Although we were on different life path later on, he came to my house several times with buddies like Dedi and Anton.

    He is an example of how we should deal with life. I never once heard him complaining about how unfair life was to him. At least not to the public or crowd, where most of us are used to.

    When, we had a small reunion, we were only remembering the good old times, when life was as simple as when to play football, and which classmates we should laugh at. If only life is always nice to everybody.

    He came to my wedding 3 years ago. He looked thin, but cheerful as always. Gosh, where does he get the happiness? 🙂 Glad he came.

    I agree with him. Thanks for the life lesson. I hope you live forever, not only today. I surely gonna miss his energy and determination fighting his illness. So long, friend…

  • Welcoming Feedbin to My Life *exaggerating*

    Hari ini hari terakhir Google Reader! Sebagai pengguna RSS reader dari Google sejak 5-6 tahun lalu, rasanya ada yang kurang jika tidak sync Google Reader tiap harinya. Bahkan saking mudahnya Reader ini, subscriptionnya dengan mudah digunakan di aplikasi lain seperti Reeder (ini aplikasi iOS dan OSX favorit! Bahkan ini aplikasi berbayar pertama yang saya beli di iPad).

    Tapi, Google sudah memutuskan bahwa ini adalah hari terakhir, walaupun petisi online sudah diisi banyak orang 🙂 Bagaimanapun, Google tidak menemukan cara tepat untuk monetasi layanan ini.

    Apa yang harus dilakukan? Banyak opsi. Silakan google. Tapi setelah mencoba sekian banyak, termasuk terakhir adalah Digg Reader, pilihan yang asyik adalah Feedbin. Well, it is a US 2.00 per month fee for this. Tapi, menurut saya tampilannya paling OK di browser. Dan juga, ini bisa digunakan untuk Reeder.

    Feedly sebenarnya cukup menarik, tapi entah kenapa rasanya proses sinkronisasinya tidak akurat. Seringkali artikel yang sudah dibaca muncul lagi. Untuk opsi lain, saya suka tampilan NewsBlur.

  • Rudi Garcia dan Roma 2013/14

    Rudi Garcia Roma – Pelatih 2013/2014 Giallorosso

    Tidak banyak yang kenal Rudi Garcia sebelum dia ditunjuk sebagai manager Roma untuk musim berikut ini. Tahun lalu, Luis Enrique digantikan oleh Montella, kemudian ke Zeman, kemudian ke Andreazzoli. Empat manajer yang tidak bisa memuaskan tifosi dan pemegang saham. Rudi Garcia sendiri pernah sukses di Lille, yaitu menjadi juara Ligue 1 dan Piala Prancis tahun 2010/2011, double winner. Jika tidak mengikuti Ligue 1, sepertinya nama Garcia emang ngga begitu populer. Anyway, siapa sih yang kenal manajer di Ligue 1 selain si Carlo Ancelotti dan Laurent Blanc?

    Tahun ini banyak perubahan, yang paling signifikan adalah Technical Director Franco Baldini (sudah di Roma sejak 1999, tapi 2006-2011 di Real Madrid dan Timnas Inggris) pindah ke Tottenham dan Stek pindah ke Fulham. Kemudian Goi, Piris, Tachtsidis, juga tidak lagi di Roma musim depan. Sepertinya lini belakang masih dianggap biang kegagalan Roma. Ga heran juga sih kalo lihat statistik.

    Garcia akan memulai dengan memastikan lini belakang yang kokoh mulai dari siapa kiper utama, siapa bek tengah yang akan jadi andalan (hmmm… jadi ingat zaman Aldair, Chivu, Samuel!). Kemudian sama seperti setiap transfer window, DDR kerap diganggu klub lain, Chelsea, Man City (untunglah Mancio sudah tidak di sana).

    Di lini tengah depan, setidaknya Lamela, Destro, dipastikan masih akan jadi andalan. Totti sedang membicarakan kontrak baru, walaupun diyakini perannya akan mulai berkurang musim depan. Sayangnya kemungkinan Roma tidak akan diperkuat lagi oleh Osvaldo, top skor Roma musim ini. Mudah-mudahan, Roma tidak bergantung pada Borriello.

    Soal foto Garcia di atas, saya punya poster yang sama persis dengan yang ada di background foto tersebut. Dibeli tahun 2000! 13 tahun lalu.
